Pomfret Street Outreach

Loving people and Connecting with our community

The Pomfret Street Outreach was formed as a way to impact the community and meet the practical needs of those within it. We deisire to build strong relationships and love those who connect with us.

Every 1st and 3rd Thursday fo the month we distribute FREE food  packages and FREE Diapers to anyone in need. Our team of volunteers are here to serve and love Carlisle one person at a time. We can only do this with the support of our community and people like you.

Distribution

Diaper Giveaway

The Pomfret Street Outreach provides diapers to children in need to keep them dry, clean and healthy. We do this through a partnership with Healthy Steps Diaper Bank.

50 diapers per month are allotted to each child that comes through our doors. Basic demographic information is colleted to ensure that our diaper inventory is distributed evenly amongst the entire community. We are believing for the health and well-being of all families who visit us.

Food Giveaway

We make every effort to provide ingredients for at least two meals to be made by families who visit us. Additionally, we work to provide food items that seem generally needed throughout our guest population such as, dry goods and canned goods.

The items we provide are freely given to those in our community who visit us on our distribution days. We are able to do this through the generous support of the community that we serve.

About Us and Our Mission

The Pomfret Street Outreach is an initiative of Spirit Empowered Ministries, which was founded in May of 2019 to offer an expression of love to the community. The nonprofit organization looks to serve the community through building relational bonds with partners, seeking God in prayer, and equipping the community to walk in a spirit of love and hope.

In April 2020, we began to distribute food, diapers, hand sanitizer, face masks, and other household goods at 79 East Pomfret street in partnership with The Shalom Center due to the Covid-19 shutdown. What started out as a way to meet a practical need for the community, became an avenue for us to meet new people and develop relational bonds that go beyond “public service”.

Our desire is to love the residents of Carlisle in a way that provides assistance to those in need as well as being a safe place for those in our community to gather. We have consistently been serving Carlisle families in this manner since launching the Pomfret Street Outreach initiative.
